Small Group Tutoring
What is it and What to Expect

Our approach to Small Group Tutoring Sessions stems from the idea that peers can aid in the learning process.

  • Our Small Group Tutoring sessions are designed with the idea of creating a more student centered approach to tutoring.

  • By sharing the space with others who may (or may not) be struggling you start creating the habit of creating effective study groups.

  • Our Small Group Sessions range from 2-5 students 

 

PRO TIP:  Establish a productive learning environment at home, the couch or your bed is probably not going to be the best workplace.

1-on-1

Small Group

  • 2 to 5 students per session 

  • 1 student per session

  • Tutor will lead group session, ensuring all students are engaged and learning. 

  • Material that will be covered in the session is usally provided before the session begins.

  • Tutor and student cooperate to complete assignments, tasks, etc. Allows for more one-on-one instruction/attention.

Structure of Session

  • Student progress is monitored throughout the session/sessions. Tutor will actively be paying attention to areas of strength/weakness.

"What's the biggest difference between Small Group Tutoring and 1-on-1?

  • There isn't really a specific group that benefits from small group tutoring. Depending on the students needs/goals small group tutoring can be a viable option.

  • Small group tutoring can be great for the overachiever and the underachiever. It can be great for the introverted student and the extroverted. 

  • Small Group Tutoring sessions are dynamic learning spaces that mold to the group of students.​
